Immaculate Conception Food Pantry has been serving need families and individuals of our community for many years. In the summer of 2015, the food pantry was reorganized and moved to new quarters in the Sr. Catherine Center, also know as the Parish Center. The food pantry, which is staffed by many parish volunteers, is currently open every Friday from 3:00 to 5:30 PM. No one is ever turned away. Anyone can receive food on an emergency basis, and with proper registration can receive continuous help supplementing their weekly food supply. Food bags consist of items from all food groups, including fresh produce and bread.
With the generous support our parish receives from New York State, local businesses and our parishioners, we are able to get the food we need to keep our food pantry open. We publish a particular food item that we are requesting every month in the Parish Bulletin. These foods can be left in the food bin in the vestibule of the church. We can also accept financial contributions through the Sunday collection. Checks made out to "Immaculate Conception Food Pantry" are sent to the food bank in Albany where they have much greater buying power.
If you know of a friend or neighbor who is in need of assistance due to poor health, divorce, loss of employment, low wages, domestic violence, etc., please do not hesitate to send them to our food pantry on any Friday. We are glad to be of service.
