Parenting Program

PARENTING PROGRAM

Who We Are:

A social organization that has as its primary purpose the moral support of families with children. Our primary focus at present is on families with young children. We view ourselves as an organization of welcome since ours is often the first organization a young parent joins after teen and early adult years spent without a close connection with parish life. We view the family as the reflection of our relationship with our heavenly Father and therefore our meetings are spiritual as well as social.

What We Do:

  • Meet on Thursday mornings from October to December and February to April to discuss topics such as childhood development, discipline, sibling rivalry, the introduction of faith and spirituality for children, the simple opportunity to speak to an empathetic adult after spending most of one's waking hours with pre-schoolers
  • Host evening seminars on special topics, e.g.: Discipline for Today's Families.
  • Host the Expectant Mother's Mass & Brunch in October and May

What We Hope To Do In The Future:

  • Organize a support group for Parents of Pre-Teens and Teens.
  • Organize a support group for Single Moms.
  • Provide refreshments and a social hour to families preparing to present their babies for Baptism.
  • Recruit more individuals who will undertake the facilitator training offered by the Archdiocese so that we may broaden the range of activities we provide.
