 How Do I?


Reconciliation (Penance)
Confessions are heard each Saturday from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the Room of Reconciliation located in the Sacred Heart Chapel in the Stony Point Church.

 

Baptisms
First & third Sundays at 1:30 p.m. in the Stony Point Church, by appointment.  Couples must call one of the priests for an interview, instruction, and to set the Baptismal date, usually one month prior to the Baptism.

 

Marriages
Preliminary arrangements should be made with one of the priests a year in advance of the proposed date of marriage.  Couples are required to attend a Marriage Preparation Program.

 

Sacrament of the Sick
Please call the rectory to arrange for the Anointing of the Sick for those who are seriously ill.  In an emergency, call any time.  If you are scheduled for major surgery please call to arrange to receive this sacrament before entering the hospital.

 

Communion for the Homebound
Those unable to come to church due to sickness, age, or some incapacity for an extended length of time should call the rectory to arrange for Communion at home.

 

RCIA (Rite of Christian for Adults)
Adults desiring to join the Catholic Church as well as those wishing to complete their initiation into the Church (by receiving the sacraments of Communion and/or Confirmation) should contact the pastor, Fr. Staar.  Instructions begin in September and continue until after Easter, and are held on Tuesday nights from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m. in the Parish Center (library of the school building).  The sacraments are received at the Easter Vigil.

 

First Communion
Children usually receive their First Holy Communion in the Second Grade after 2 years of instruction in our Parochial School or Religious Education Program. Adults who would like to receive First Communion should refer to the RCIA section above.

 

Confirmation
Children usually receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Eighth Grade after eight years of instruction. Adults who would like to be confirmed should refer to the RCIA section above. 
 

Annulments
